Getting bored due to the lockdown? Go for a hike (Yes it's allowed and even encouraged!)

As millions of us remain confined in our homes due to coronavirus, there has been quite a broad confusion on whether it’s permitted to go for a walk and get some fresh air (and much needed exercise).

The recent lockdown in the Bay Area has closed down most centers for recreational activities, including fitness centers, gyms, zoos, and campgrounds. But not all hope is lost - you are still allowed (and encouraged) to go out for a hike away from the crowds.

Many authorities and experts, in fact, recommend outdoor activity — with caution. Whether it’s for a quick exercise in the backyard or a hike in secluded areas, being momentarily outside helps reduce staying-at-home frustrations. Read on for some general advice about going outside during the pandemic, and make sure to keep tabs on local guidance as events evolve.

How can you avoid crowds?

Preferably it's best to reach parks which are some distance away from downtown. At the same time, it’s advisable to avoid public transport or shared transport. The best course of action is to use your own private car. San Francisco tech based company, Kyte, offers delivered sanitized cars to any address in the city. You can rent a car for a day, weekend or even for weeks and months. Once you are done with your adventure, Kyte will pick up the car from your desired address.
