Kyte Expands to NYC

Alongside lifting restrictions and widespread vaccination efforts, New Yorkers and travelers to the Tri-State area will finally have the freedom to explore the Big Apple and all of its surroundings without having to go miles out of the way to pick up and drop off a rental car or taking a taxi to the car rental location. Starting May 1, 2021, Kyte’s professional fleet of fully sanitized and serviced vehicles will be available for delivery and pick up in Mid to Lower Manhattan. With Kyte, customers can easily book their preferred vehicle through the app or website and a Kyte Surfer will drop off and pick up the car at a convenient time and location as requested.

Kyte will make it surprisingly easy for all New Yorkers to get a car anywhere in Manhattan with no lines and no paperwork.

“We wanted to offer a better car rental experience in New York City without having to go all the way to JFK, La Guardia, or anywhere for that matter,” said co-founder Ludwig Schoenack. “With Kyte launching in New York City, our customers won’t have to rely on taxis or public transportation to get around and will instead have the freedom and flexibility to go wherever and whenever they please'', he added.

With flexible options for long-term car subscriptions and short-term rentals, a weekend trip to the Hamptons or a day out seeing the city’s most iconic tourist spots like Times Square and the Brooklyn Bridge are all a few clicks away.

After Kyte’s success during COVID-19 times in Boston, Washington DC, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, the San Francisco-based company decided to open up in the New York market with more cities planned for 2021 such as Miami, Seattle, Chicago, etc. “A year ago, we beta-launched in our second city, Los Angeles, in the beginning of the pandemic. Since then, the need for safe and reliable transportation has only grown and shows no signs of leaving,” says Schoenack.
